Airship are still only 20 years of age but have already done the rounds,
having begun, aged 16, as members first of Astroboy, and then as Rowley. Now, as
Airship, they've ditched the songs about "fancying girls at school", and
following tours with Editors and Biffy Clyro. True enough, they don't sound
like Joy Division or the Cure. Instead, with their big, bold choruses,
soaring riffs and stirring melancholia, they are offering another take
on the post-The Bends "emotional rock" of Snow Patrol, Elbow and
Coldplay.
