The Black Keys began recording for their seventh studio album around March 2011. On July 14, 2011, the Black Keys revealed in an interview with Spin that they had finished work on the album. The names of two songs on the album were also revealed to be "Lonely Boy" and "Little Black Submarine". The album's title was later revealed to be El Camino, and the album was released on December 6, 2011. On October 26, 2011, The Black Keys released "Lonely Boy", the first single from El Camino.
