Foster the People is an American indie pop band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2009.
Members Mark Foster, Mark Pontius, and
Cubbie Fink formed the band while in their
mid-twenties.Torches is their debut album. It was first released on 23 May 2011. The album was preceded by the release of the single "Pumped Up Kicks", which debuted at number 96 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has peaked at number 3.
